Pour the light of Christ into others

We are called to be the salt and light! As servants of Christ, pouring love into people shows them that God sees them, hears them, and loves them. God is love and when we pour his love out we pour His Spirit upon people.

Paul wrote, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men (1 Corinthians 14:1-5).”

We are specifically told to especially desire prophecy, so that we may edify others!

We went on our Bahamas cruise last June, and although we were enjoying a wonderful and relaxing vacation, the work for the Lord never stops! We are his hands and feet, we are the light of Christ, and we are to obey and do as the Holy Spirit calls us to do!

I love photos, just ask Cameron, he will tell you how he is always laughing at me on how many photos I take! I'm very sentimental and I just love having memories and I love looking through my photos. I always purchase the photo package when we go on a cruise, and I always take the time to stop for the photo opportunities when the photographers are out!

The last night of our cruise we went to go select our photos. It is always extremely busy and chaotic, as everyone who bought the photo package is there to select their photos, finalize their transactions, etc. You do this on a kiosk, and sometimes the kiosk isn't working, sometimes people are confused, and sometimes people just aren't good with technology in general. So the photographers are usually running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to help and accommodate everybody there.

Amongst the chaos, as soon as we walked in we were greeted immediately by one of the lady photographers. Divine alignment. She was very professional, kind and thorough! I had prepaid for the photo package before boarding the ship, however, it was showing that the package was not paid for and that I would have to pay for it again. We left the kiosk, and she brought me over to the checkout stand so she can look everything up and get it fixed for me.

As she was pulling up my profile and trying to get it resolved, her manager walked into that area as well, and she asked him for help or an approval of some sort. He was really rude, nasty, and snapped at her. She stayed calm and professional, and she relayed to him what needed to happen, and yet again he was extremely rude. Once again staying calm and professional, she re-explained what was needed, and this time he, still rudely, came over and typed whatever he needed to type into the computer and moved on. You can see the frustration on her face. She went about doing what she was doing and as she was about done fixing the issue I was having, another worker came up to her. Again being rude, he said to her in a very sharp abrupt tone, “ you need to go help those people.” Still being the kind professional, she said to him, “I'm in the middle of helping somebody right now, who are you saying needs help?” He gave her a look as if saying, that was a really dumb question how do you not know who I'm talking about, as he proceeded to rudely tell her and point out who the people are. She asked him what they needed help with and he gave her a brief description. She said okay, I'm helping somebody right now but if you do XYZ that will resolve it. He looked at her, with a really rude facial expression as he said, I don't know how to do that so you're going to have to do it. And he walked away.

At this point the poor girl was almost in tears. How many of you know though, that God had me there at that exact moment, to pour out his Spirit into her! We are always on assignment, and we should always be the light of Christ.

Just as soon as he walked away, she had finished what she was doing on the computer, and she said to me, okay that's done let's go back to the kiosk, she walked from behind the computer over to me and started walking towards the kiosk.

I said to her, I'm so sorry that you had to just deal with those two people being so rude to you. But I believe God sent me here at this exact moment, because he knew you were going to go through that. I asked her if I can pray for her, and as tears started to flow she said yes.

Before praying for her, I started prophesying to her the word of the Lord, over her life. Who he says she is, who she is called to be, etc., pouring his love out upon her. Then I prayed for her, broke off all sorts of stuff in the name of Jesus, and poured the truth of Christ back into her.

As the sadness, frustration, and despair broke off her face, joy, peace and the love of God were present again. We talked for a few more minutes, things of God, as I helped her iron some things out and realign with Christ. Yes, it was still busy, it was still chaotic, but we were in our own bubble of Glory, as she received from Christ.

There are no coincidences with God. He puts people in our paths everyday who need a touch from him. So today, let this be your encouragement, to reach out and let people feel the love of Christ.
