It has been a few years since Cameron and I have gone to the movies. As a matter of fact, we haven’t been to a movie since we moved to Tennessee. This past Monday night, our church all went to the movies together to watch “Come Out In Jesus Name.” To say this movie was amazing is just not enough credit to the power and glory to God that came from this! There are certain topics that you don’t hear much of from most of the church, but we should. If it was written, it matters. Spiritual warfare, demonic oppression, possession, affliction, etc., are not ones that you hear about too often. As a matter of fact I used to think that things of this matter were only able to be dealt with by Catholic priests. That was due to my lack of knowledge, and no teaching on this matter. That thought process was so wrong though, and we don’t know what we don’t know. Before I get into the movie, I just want to share a little on why I think this documentary was so important.
Spiritual warfare is very real, and always going on, but God gives us guidance and protection on how to deal with it. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6: 10-13).”
Sometimes, one can be praying for healing or praying to quit an addiction, etc., but the healing hasn’t come or the addition hasn’t stopped. It could be you stopped for a day and the addiction just gets worse. It is disheartening and discouraging for that person as they wonder why they can’t stop no matter how hard they try, no matter how hard they pray. This could be where Ephesians 6:12 comes in and we realize we are wrestling against spiritual forces. The oppressor is wanting that “fix” of the addiction for you to feed them, that oppressor is living off of afflicting you. That is when we call upon Jesus to remove that oppression and never have it return, to heal the wounds, and to fill the void with His Spirit! “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick (Matthew 8:16).” We see here, that for these certain people, Jesus had to cast out spirits BEFORE they were healed from their sickness. Jesus left us with this power, we have the Holy Spirit living in us. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father (John 14:12).” It is not us that are able to cast these demons out, or heal the sick, etc., but He who lives in us! We are to walk in our authority, we are to be His temple, the light of the world. “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).” The Holy Spirit desires us to use these gifts to help others! There are people crying out to God, crying to be delivered, crying to be healed and set free! We need to rise up church with the strength of God within us and call upon Him and cast the out the devils by the name and blood of Jesus! “But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you (Luke 11:20).” Yes, these matters are very real and need attention. They need action, we need to be knowledgeable and ready to fight it at any given moment! I so love how this documentary has brought attention to this part of scripture that is not so often covered.
Now onto the movie!
Wow, just wow! What an experience to be in a theater with a bunch of brothers and sisters in Christ and watching this movie. It was so anointed and Spirit filled. There were so many real live examples of fighting off evil and setting people free. Pastor Greg Locke walked through his and his wife’s journey of how they were led by God to minister in this deliverance and all the other warriors of Christ that God aligned to teach them and to walk it out with them. There was footage of demons manifesting in people and them being set free, praise God!! Real life examples, real life deliverance! You felt the presence of God in that theater, let me just tell you! At the end of the movie, Pastor Greg Locke held a deliverance! He asked people who wanted to, to stand. The whole theater got to their feet, people were extending their hands, speaking from their hearts and crying out to God as they repeated his prayer for repentance, forgiveness, letting go. He then went into all deliverance for all different kinds of spirits, casting them out in the mighty name of Jesus and leading people to come out of agreement with those spirits and repenting of anything known or unknown that could’ve opened that door by them or others. People were being set free! Spirits were manifesting and coming out! The light will always overcome the dark, we need to speak our authority of Jesus Christ! At our theater you heard a person scream an un-human scream as that spirit was cast out of them! There were people standing in the gap for their loved ones, there was all kinds of bondage being broken in Jesus name!!!! This was not just a movie for entertaining purposes. This was a move of God to set the captives free and cast out the enemy! I am so thankful to God for aligning this move and to all those who worked on putting this together and setting His people free. We serve an almighty powerful God, don’t ever feel like you are alone or that there is no help for you. That is a lie from the pit of hell, and satan is the author of lies and confusion. Humble yourself, seek God, ask for prayer! If you or a loved one is suffering from affliction, please speak up! Let’s bring Jesus to the rescue and set them or you free by His blood.
I pray blessings, peace, and love to all who are reading this. May you walk all your moments in Christ!

I love that this movie wasn't just entertainment. We should seek more things that will be beneficial to the Body like this! - JMS
