Rebuke the Enemy

Evil is real but It trembles at Jesus. The enemy is the father of lies and he wants people to be in fear of him. But God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and of sound mind. God has given us authority over the enemy and to trample on serpents. He has given us authority and He is power. The Holy Spirit is power. The Holy Spirit lives in us so when we take up our authority and speak that word, the Holy Spirit moves in power like flaming darts piercing through the enemy that can not be contained. The demons tremble at His very name.

When we take a look at Luke 8:28 we see that Jesus came across two demon possessed men. These demon possessed men are described as being exceedingly fierce, so much so that no one was able to pass by that way. But then Jesus came, before He even spoke, before He even moved a finger, they felt His presence. They knew who He is. They knew the authority and power that He has. They knew they could not fool him and they stood no chance in the presence of the Almighty God.

You see the enemy knows who God is, he knows the authority that God has. He knows the authority and power that lives inside you; but he tries to manipulate your mind as the father of lies and tries to get you to think there is no power that can come against the enemy. He tries to throw a temper tantrum and distract you. But it is written that He who sits in heaven laughs. So as he's throwing his temper tantrum He who sits in heaven laughs knowing the enemy is already defeated and stands no chance against Jesus.

Now back to Luke. Once they felt the presence of Jesus they trembled, they feared they knew their time was up. They said to him, “what have we to do with you, Jesus, you son of God? Have you come to torment us before the time?” So they know their fate is going to be a fate of torment, and they even know that it will come at a specific time otherwise they wouldn't have asked if he has come to torment them before that specific time. They trembled and cried out begging to go into a herd of pigs once He casts them out from the men.

That same power lives inside of you and you have authority by the blood of Jesus. So when you come up against the enemy and his attacks, laugh at him like Jesus does and take up your authority. Call on the power of the Holy Spirit to rebuke the enemy; rebuke his attacks, plead the blood of Jesus and command the enemy to go.

Do not fall into the lies of the enemy thinking that you have to take the attacks from the enemy that he throws at you. You are a royal priesthood sons and daughters of the most high God. Glory be to Jesus for setting us free! “Surely He has bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5).”
